is such a vibrant, colourful, scenic city. The locals are so
friendly and open to foreigners, that it is easy to make
friends with them, and if you truly want to learn Spanish in
Bogota you want to speak with the locals as much as
possible.
In the past Colombia had a decade of civil strife that made
the country unpopular to visit. But now it is safe to visit,
especially Bogota.
And it is relatively uninvaded by tourists as many other
Latin American locations are. This is one reason why it is so
easy to make friends with the locals when you move there,
because as a foreigner you are still a novelty to them. And
they are a very open and friendly people - creating the ideal
language-learning environment.
If you want to learn Spanish in Bogota as rapidly as
possible, try to avoid other English-speakers when you are
there. Also, it's best to stay for at least a two-month stint.
Not only for the language but also so you can get the most out
of this awesome city.
The Old With the New
If you are planning to learn Spanish in Bogota but you
aren't yet familiar with the city, it is one of the msot
beautiful cities in Latin America. It is a mixture of old and
new architecture tha blend nicely, with many pretty old
colonial and republican houses.
It has a population of about 8 million and over 50 museums.
Some examples are the gold museum, the National museum, the
Botero museum, The Silva poetry house, the Quinta de Bolivar,
Maloka, The Modern Art Museum, The Colon Theater and the Luis
Angel Arango Library.
The climate is great all year round. And the nightlife is
second to none. All in all, it's a great idea to visit and
learn Spanish in Bogota.
