So the locals are extremely friendly with visitors and you
can make friends without difficulty when you visit. This is the
most important thing for learning Spanish as you need to speak
it as much as possible to reach a degree of fluency as rapidly
as possible.
You can visit for any period of time to learn Spanish in
Colombia. If you aren't serious, it's probably best to stay for
a least a couple of months. There are a few other tips you
could follow to help you learn there faster too.
One is to only speak Spanish while you are there, which is
sometimes easier said than done, so try to make friends with
native Colombians wherever you stay - you have plenty of time
to make English-speaking friends back home!
Another tip is to set a few goals for yourself, such as
aiming to reach a decent level of fluency after 2 months, or
booking yourself on a tough Spanish exam for when you return.
If you seriously want to learn Spanish in Colombia, some sort
of goal like this helps to focus the mind and you will absorb
your new language at a much faster pace.
Two Ways to Go
When you go to learn Spanish in Colombia you can choose to
either study in shared classroom in a school, or you can study
from a good home-study Spanish course.
The problem with classroom-based lessons in a school is that
they tend to move at a slow pace as they slow down to meet the
pace of the slowest student in the class. When you are in
Colombia you are totally immersed in a Spanish-speaking
environment so you really should expect to move at a fast
pace.
A good home-study Spanish course allows you to move forward
much faster and can give you all the basic grammar, vocab and
language structure that you need to go out on the street and
get speaking. I've written a review of the most popular Spanish
home- study course which you can read here: Rocket Spanish Review

It also has colonial cities, archaeological ruins,

scuba diving and surfing. No need to say more really, it is a
great idea to visit and learn Spanish in Colombia.
