Lima is a wonderful city to visit and study Spanish in. In
fact if you want to learn Spanish in Lima rapidly you need not
do so much studying the language as simply speaking it. The
people who go to learn Spanish in Lima and really learn the
quickest are those who make friends with the locals and immerse
themselves in Spanish and local culture right from the
start.
Now if you are a beginner this can be quite challenging and
a little intimidating, but it is well worth it and you will be
surprised how quickly you pick it up. Lima is in many ways a
modern and sophisticated city, with a strong economy for a
South American country, and it is bustling with people and a
great social scene. It is easy for a visitor to meet and get to
know local native Spanish speakers.
And there are really two ways that people go about learning
Spanish in Lima. The first is the traditional route of
enrolling on a course at one of Lima's Spanish
schools. The second is to study the grammar and structure of
the Spanish language with a good home-study course. Both ways
have their merits.
Because when you learn Spanish in Lima are immersed in
Spanish and you can practise your language all day long,
it is not important to practse conversation in your Spanish
class.
Therefore many people prefer to use a good home-study
course, which gives you a firm grounding in Spanish grammar and
vocabulary, so all you need to do then is get out there and
practise. You also save a considerable amount of money by
taking the home-study course route. If you think this may be

Leave the English at Home
Whichever way you decide to learn the basics, make sure that
you avoid speaking English while you are there. Many people go
to learn Spanish in Lima with good intentions but end up
befriending mostly English-speaking people and practising their
English more! But you will have a muc more satisfying time and
learn much more if you avoid the temptation.
If you are planning to learn Spanish in Lima but you aren't
yet faimliar with the city, Lima is a very interesting city
which is simply exploding with energy. It is a slightly
overpopulated city and an exremely fast-paced one, so if you
are expecting a more chilled out atmosphere it may be better to
visit another area of Peru.
But if you are attracted by the dazzling mixture of
experiences you can have in Lima you will love it here. Lima
can in a flash transport you from crumbling pre-Inca pyramids
and the waning splendor of Spanish colonial architecture to
glitzy, ultramodern shopping malls and many of the country’s
best museums. You can feast on fresh seafood by the ocean, go
paragliding off the cliffs in Miraflores and groove all night
in bohemian Barranco’s bars and clubs.
If you are a fun-loving type, then it's a fine idea for you
to learn Spanish in Lima.
