But they are they expensive! And you have to leave your house! London is a fantastic city to learn Spanish in but it's a very big place, and these central classes can be overbooked and overcrowded. Sometimes the time the teacher has to focus on you personally can be very little with so many students in one class.

So you might want to consider a home study course that saves you travelling to and from classes. Despite a few inconviniences from the great size of the city, it is a great idea to learn Spanish in London.

London is the multi-cultural centre of Europe and there are more opportunities to actually talk with Spanish-speaking natives from Spain or Latin America than you can find in any other European city outside of Spain!

Perhaps more importantly there are more jobs available every day in London that value employees who can speak at least elementary Spanish. It’s a great skill to have to make you stand out in the difficult job-market today.

The Spanish-speaking community in London is also big and well-established. So you can find many opportunities to practise your Spanish without even leaving the city!

Many Spaniards settled in London following the Spanish Civil War from 1936-9 and by the end of the Second World War a new Spanish quarter had developed in North Kensington and Victoria. Today there are Spanish communities dotted throughout London. And there are also large communities from most Spanish-speaking countries in South American.

So if you want to supplement your Spanish lessons with real practise you shouldn’t have much trouble finding a Spanish-speaking conversation partner, or even just finding a Spanish Tapas restaurant or Argentinean steak house to start visiting!

With good lessons and a positive attitude you can rapidly learn Spanish in London then in a few months hop on a cheap flight to Spain to put your new-found skills to the test.
