Whether you are going for a brief, two week intensive visit,
or a longer stay it is a great idea to learn Spanish in Mexico.
Mexico is cheap to visit and stunningly beautiful in areas.
Also, although Mexico is a very popular tourist destination
it is easy to travel there and speak only to locals, which is
ideal to get the most from your stay and learn Spanish
quickly.
Many people go to learn Spanish in Mexico and pick up the
language very rapidly by immersing themselves in the culture
for a month or two. If you're having fun it's amazing how
quickly you can learn a language!
If you want to learn Spanish in Mexico as rapidly as
possible, it's a very good idea to follow these
few tips:
Firstly, make sure that you avoid other English speakers, or
refuse to speak English no matter how great the temptation.
Secondly, try and set yourself a goal - perhaps to reach a
comfortable level of everyday fluency in 2 months. Goals help
to focus the mind, we are goal-orientated machines and if we
have something to head towards you can absorb a new language
twice as fast. Another possible goal could be to sit a fluency
exam in Spanish when you return.
You also have a choice of how exactly you will learn Spanish
in Mexico. As you will be surrounded by native Spanish speakers
everyday, all you really need from a Spanish lesson is the
correct grammar and functions of the language, as well as
vocabulary. You certainly don't need to practise conversation
in class.
The Fast Way to Learn
Because of this it's not best to study at a Spanish school.
It would be better to study from a good home-study Spanish
course, which is a lot cheaper and will teach you everything
you need to get out on the street and talking. Check out my
review of the most popular home-study Spanish course:

Review
For those of you who want to learn Spanish in Mexico but
don't really know anything about the country - Mexico is an
exceedingly naturally beautiful country that is hot - but not
too hot - all year round.
Famous for its deep history and beautiful beaches, Mexico is
one of the most traveled places in the world. It is the 8th
most travelled destination by foreign visitors, and has a
booming tourism industry, even in these tougher economic times.
Although this as suffered recently with the emergence of Swine
Flu inside Mexico's borders - something that is now well under
control.
Known formally as the United Mexican States, Mexico is
the fifth biggest country in the Americas, spanning
nearly two million square kilometers. Mexico can be found
in North America, bordered by the United States on the north,
by Guatemala and Belize on the southeast, the North Pacific
Ocean on the southwest and the Sea of Cortez on the east. It's
a great idea to visit and learn Spanish in Mexico.
